01. Overview
A marketplace for local tradespeople - designed for both sides of the deal
myvendor is a two-sided local services marketplace. On one side: sole traders and small businesses - plumbers, painters, carpenters, roofers, removal companies, shoemakers - who typically have no website, limited online presence, and rely on word of mouth to find work. On the other: customers looking for a local specialist for a job that's too small for a large firm and too skilled for a handyman.
The platform gives tradespeople a simple, low-cost digital presence: a branded profile page with photos, service descriptions, skill tags and contact details. For customers it's a searchable directory, filterable by industry and location. Alongside the core marketplace, the owner also runs a commercial advertising service - offering tradespeople packaged social media advertising campaigns as an optional paid upgrade.

Brand identity (naming already set · logo · key visual · colour palette) · Full platform UX/UI design (homepage · industry directory · company profile · For Business section · advertising product pages) · Social media campaign assets
02. Brand identity
A brand that works for tradespeople and their customers equally
The myvendor name was already established when the design engagement began. The visual identity needed to work for two very different audiences simultaneously: independent tradespeople who value straightforwardness and credibility, and consumers who want to feel safe trusting a stranger with their home.
The logo uses a custom lowercase wordmark in a rounded, friendly sans-serif. The distinctive V mark - formed by a positive/negative V shape suggesting both a checkmark and a forward arrow - doubles as a quality signal and a navigation metaphor. The brand palette is built on a vivid cobalt blue and lime green, a combination that reads as energetic, modern and trustworthy without the sterility of corporate blue. A complementary warm sand tone rounds out the palette for backgrounds and secondary surfaces.
The key visual system uses illustrated characters - a plumber, a painter, a cleaner - rendered in a flat, friendly style consistent with the brand's approachable positioning. These appear in the hero sections, drawing immediate attention to the human side of the service.

03. The platform
Two audiences, one coherent experience
The platform design prioritises clarity of purpose above all: a visitor landing on the homepage should immediately understand what myvendor offers and how to use it, whether they're a tradesperson wanting to get listed or a customer looking for help. The illustrated hero communicates the service promise visually, while the search and industry browse immediately invite action.
Homepage - hero section with illustrated characters, the core value proposition ("Find a specialist in your neighbourhood"), a search bar, and the most popular industries displayed as a scannable icon grid covering trades from electricians and plumbers to cleaning, roofing and removals.
Homepage continued - latest company cards section showing vendor profile previews (photo, name, rating, tags, location), followed by the vendor acquisition CTA ("Be visible, get found!") and a four-column footer with menu, information, business links and contact.
Industries directory - left sidebar with alphabetical category list (All Industries selected), main area showing company cards in a responsive grid. Each card shows the company name, trade tags, phone number and a "Contact Company" CTA - giving customers everything they need to act.
Company profile - two views of the vendor profile page. The header view (left) shows the company name, rating, "Write a Review" and "Book a Service" CTAs, company logo, location map, skills tags and reviews. The sidebar layout (right) reveals the full page structure: service description, photo gallery, company details, location, profile completeness indicator and a contact form - giving vendors a genuine digital presence in minutes.
04. For Business - advertising products
A revenue stream built into the platform
Beyond the directory listing, myvendor offers tradespeople a range of paid advertising services. The For Business section functions as an internal shop, presenting three advertising product tiers - a custom landing page (£99.99), a myvendor PPC platform account (£149.99) and a full social media advertising service (£249.99). These products help vendors go beyond passive listing and actively acquire new customers.
Each product has its own detail page with a feature breakdown, social proof, a Q&A section and a direct purchase CTA. The tone here is more commercial but stays consistent with the approachable platform voice.

06. Outcomes
A complete digital product - brand, platform and go-to-market
The myvendor engagement delivered everything needed to bring the platform to market: a distinct brand identity, a fully designed two-sided marketplace, a commercial advertising product line, and a social media campaign suite ready to launch.
05. Social media assets
Campaign assets to grow the platform itself
Alongside the platform design, I created a set of social media assets for the myvendor marketing campaigns. Two campaign directions were produced, each targeting a different audience and message - one focusing on vendor acquisition ("Get free myvendor page, get online traffic"), the other on customer acquisition ("Get more customers, your business is growing").
Both sets use the full brand visual system - illustrated characters, cobalt blue and lime green palette - adapted to mobile-first social formats. The assets are shown in Instagram mockups demonstrating how the brand translates from web to social context.
