01. Overview
A 13-year client relationship - and the fourth website built together
Aris Concept is a furniture manufacturer based in Swarzędz, near Poznań, specialising in upholstered seating - sofas, sectionals, armchairs - for both the retail and contract markets. They came to Skillo early in the agency's life and stayed for over a decade, commissioning four successive websites alongside a wide range of print and digital materials over the years.
By the time this project began, the relationship was well-established and the brief was correspondingly detailed. Aris arrived with professional product photography, complete technical specifications and a clear brief. My responsibilities were: write concise copy for each product model, design the new site, produce complete lo-fi interactive prototypes for client sign-off, then hi-fi prototypes across three breakpoints, and finally coordinate the implementation with a trusted development partner - overseeing the build through to launch.
New for this version
A gated 3D model download hub for interior designers - authenticated users could access product models in the most widely used 3D formats, enabling direct use of Aris furniture in design projects and building a professional B2B channel alongside the consumer catalogue.
02. Previous version
Where we were - the third-generation site
The previous Aris website - also designed by Skillo - had served the company well, but was showing its age both visually and technically. The dark navigation, product-forward layout and promotional mechanics were solid, but the design language no longer reflected where Aris had positioned its brand in the market. A more editorial, premium aesthetic was needed to match the quality of the product photography and the expectations of the audience they were increasingly targeting.
The third-generation Aris website - shown across desktop, tablet and mobile. The dark header, sidebar navigation and promotional banner layout were effective but due for renewal.
Previous version desktop views - homepage with the full-width product hero (left) and the About / O firmie page (right) showing the text and product photography layout.
Previous site in use - promotional 50% sale campaign shown across tablet and phone. The responsive implementation handled multiple screen sizes, but the design language was ready for a fresh approach.
03. The redesign
Lighter, more editorial - a site that lets the furniture speak
The new design moves away from the dark, promotionally-driven aesthetic of the previous version toward a clean, light editorial style. White space does the heavy lifting - giving Aris's professional product photography room to breathe. The typography is confident and minimal, the palette is restrained: warm whites, soft terracotta accents and dark graphite for text. Navigation is cleaner and more direct.
The homepage leads with a large-format product hero - a sofa in a styled interior setting - immediately establishing the premium, aspirational register the brand was aiming for. The section structure is calm and clear: hero, product highlights, news/blog, newsletter. Nothing competes with the product photography.
New homepage - the "Narożnik modułowy Spełlo" hero section across two layout states. Large-format product photography against a white ground, minimal navigation, terracotta CTA button.
Aris Concept manufacturer page (left) - introducing the brand with product photography, category navigation and news thumbnails. Product category overview (right) - icon-based product type grid (narożnik, sofa, fotel, etc.) giving users an immediate overview of the full range before entering the product catalogue.
Homepage lower sections (left) - promotional banner ("W naszym salonie znajdziesz delikatne meblowe propozycje"), blog preview and newsletter sign-up. Homepage mobile layout (right) - the four main content areas adapted for small screens, maintaining hierarchy and readability.
04. Product catalogue
A searchable, filterable product database - and a 3D model hub for professionals
The product catalogue is the core of the site. Each model page presents the product with professional photography, a full technical specification, available configurations (sizes, fabrics, legs) and product copy written for this project. The catalogue is filterable by product type, collection and features, and integrates with the news/Aktualności section for editorial context.
The standout new feature is the 3D model download hub - a gated section accessible only to registered, authorised interior designers. Authenticated users can browse the full product range and download 3D models in the formats most commonly used in interior design software. This opened a direct B2B channel between Aris and the professional design community - a valuable commercial relationship that the previous site had no mechanism to support.
Product catalogue - desktop view (right) showing the filterable product grid with product cards, category sidebar and quick-access filter controls. The layout balances density (many products visible) with the premium feel established in the hero sections.
05. Mobile
Three breakpoints prototyped before a single line of code was written
The hi-fi prototypes were produced for three breakpoints - desktop, tablet and mobile - and signed off by the client before implementation began. This approach, combined with the lo-fi interactive prototypes produced earlier in the process, meant the development team had a precise, agreed reference for every layout state, significantly reducing back-and-forth during the build.
Mobile prototype views - homepage hero, promotional section, news/blog preview and newsletter across multiple phone screen states. The single-column layout maintains the editorial hierarchy established on desktop, with the terracotta accent colour carrying through as the primary CTA signal at every size.
06. Outcomes
A site that grew with the brand - and opened a new professional channel
The fourth Aris website delivered a significant step forward on both the consumer and professional fronts - a cleaner, more premium experience for end customers and a new direct relationship with the interior design community.
